Enrollment Procedure

Students enrolling in Community Christian School must have the following items completed and filed with the office:

  1. Complete enrollment packet. This includes enrollment application, payment contract, discipline agreement, and statement of faith.
  2. Payment of non-refundable registration fee.
  3. Current record physical examination and record of immunizations.
  4. Certified copy of birth certificate.
  5. It is suggested that students entering kindergarten be 5 years old by September 1 of the current school year. However, intellectual development and maturity will be considered in placing students in the appropriate grade level.
  6. Students transferring from other schools must have a request for transfer of records signed by parent. A transcript or copies of report cards must be submitted to document academic achievement prior to admission.
  7. Students may be interviewed by administrator, teacher or both.
  8. Students may be tested for appropriate grade level before admission is accepted.

Students re-enrolling in Community Christian School will be required to repeat steps one through three yearly.

Tuition/Payment Policies

Yearly tuition fees paid in full by August 31st will receive a 5% discount, or yearly tuition fees can be divided into ten equal payments, due monthly August 1st through May 1st (when paying monthly payments there is no discount). A late fee of $10.00 is charged if tuition is not paid by the 10th of each month. After-school day care is also billed monthly and due at the same time as tuition. Returned checks incur a charge of $10.00.

Registration fees include provision for the books necessary for the grade level, insurance costs and other special items.

Report cards, both interim and final, may be held until both tuition and registration fees are current. Top

Student Insurance Coverage

Every child receives student accident insurance upon enrollment and payment of the Registration Fee. This is not a primary policy. Therefore, if a student is injured, the claim should be made with the parent's insurance company first. The school-time insurance may provide for covered expenses that were not paid by the parent's company.

Student Attire/Dress Code

  1. Modesty in attire
  2. Orderly appearance, contributing to academic environment
  3. Clothing in harmony with primary cultural setting

Illness and Injury

CCS does not have facilities to house children who are ill. If a student is too ill to remain in the classroom, the parent will be called to take the child home.

In the event of injury or accident, parents are notified immediately by calling the emergency phone numbers given on the registration forms. It is vitally important that these phone numbers be kept up to date. Every effort is made to contact the parent before medical attention is obtained. The staff administers only basic first aid. At least one staff member trained in first aid and CPR is on campus at all times.

A student with a communicable disease shall be excluded from school while ill and during the recognized periods of communicability. If immunization is available or required, the student must obtain immunization before returning to school. Students with communicable diseases for which no immunization is available shall be excluded from school while ill. If the nature of the disease and the circumstances warrant, the school may require a physician's release before the student can return to class. In the case of pediculosis (head lice), the parent is asked to keep the child at home until the problem is fully resolved. The school reserves the right to make all final decisions regarding its communicable disease policy and to take all necessary action to control the spread of diseases within the school. The protection of all children in our care is our primary concern in this matter.

Administering Medication

Community Christian School personnel cannot administer medication to students without specific written directions and signed parental authorization. Please request and complete an "Authorization to Administer Medication" form from the school office when the need arises. Extra copies of this form may be sent home with your child upon request. This form may also be used to provide your standing instructions to us regarding any request by your child for aspirin or non-aspirin pain reliever.

Students are not to keep any medication in their possession. All medication should be turned in to the teacher, the office staff, or the school nurse for proper dispensing when necessary.

Health Screening

The health department conducts yearly screening for height, weight, hearing, vision, and scoliosis (curvature of the spine). Students in various grade levels may undergo different levels of screening. Parents will be informed of the dates and types of screening each year and be given the opportunity to have your child exempted from some of the screening. Top
